SHAKTI is an open-source project developed by (RISE) Reconfigurable intelligent systems engineering, a scientist group at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. SHAKTI is an industrial-grade processor. the core purpose of developing an open-source processor, so that it can be customized as per the client, which currently no other processor manufacturing company is offering.

Two big giants in processor manufacturing i:e "INTEL" & "ARM" Design the processor and sell them to clients worldwide. Comparing SHAKTI is an opensource Processor so clients can customize it as per their need.

SHAKTI is based on 22nm (Nanometer) FinFET technology, SHAKTI is divided into 3 categories, " Base Processor", "Multi-core Processor" and "Experimental Processor", the "E" and "C" Class are the first set of indigenous processor,

"SHAKTI" Project aims to build 6 variants of processor based on RISC-V ISA.
